With each pump station monitor, we provide access to your own personal, secure website. We implement the latest technology in Progressive Web Applications to offer you a simple, intuitive interface that is compatible with any operating system and any modern browser. This means that whether you need to access your station’s information from a Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone, or if you prefer Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge, we have you covered.
Our interface responds like a native program on your device, allowing it to be used as a standard webpage, a bookmark, or saved as an app on your home screen, saving you time and effort.
Upon opening the pump station monitoring website, you will see a quick overview of the status of each of your stations. This immediate, simplified view will instantly show you: which floats are currently engaged, active pumps, and any alarms. By selecting a specific station, you will then be able to view pump amperage, pump run times, and float events displayed on easy to read 2-axis graphs. An adjustable view scale enables you to get a timestamped record of these occurrences up to two weeks historically.
This system also sends alerts to registered users for high water alarms and power outages.
Exact geographic coordinates and driving directions are attached to each station. More accurate than a street address, finding these often well camouflaged, remote stations will no longer be a concern.
Implementing an Arcus System can reduce the cost of expenditures in numerous ways. By reviewing current and historical data, you are empowered to make proactive decisions as to the maintenance of your stations. Our system provides you the ability to correct problems as soon as they occur or avoid them completely by anticipating potential trouble areas through the additional insight our software provides. This attentive strategy can result in fewer SSOs, less unexpected overtime on call-outs, scheduling and planning for repairs before excessive damage occurs- when issues are finally, retroactively noticed, and less overall manhours spent on the busywork of driving around checking each station, often in remote locations, manually.
We can offer you the peace of mind to know that even if a station malfunctions immediately after it’s been checked, you don’t have to wait 2..3..5? days or more until its next review to find out about the issue.
An especially key benefit is for the safety of your operators. Having the ability to see which plants need attention and which don’t remotely and in real time cuts down on the time spent on the road in inclement weather.
Some commonly recurring scenarios we’ve experienced while working with these devices personally as well as client experiences include:
Longer than expected run times can indicate areas that need cleaned which may not even be visible during regular, in-person checks. This knowledge allows the pump to be cleaned before it breaks/burns out or overflows.
Significantly higher flow volumes during rain events can guide you toward areas of Inflow & Infiltration. By narrowing down these breaches, plants are better able to allocate funds replacing pipes where it will be the most impactful, reducing excess flow into the plant and the unnecessary wear and tear it would create.
If the historical data indicates that only one pump is consistently coming on- not something you’d be likely to notice in person if water is still being pumped- you can infer that the alternator may be malfunctioning. Knowing this allows the alternator to be repaired or replaced before it overworks one of the pumps.
Float status indicator can assist in determining if a float is going bad or has stopped functioning entirely. As an example; If the lag float is engaged and the lead is not, a reasonable assumption can be made that the lead float needs attention.
Pumps pulling an above average amperage can reveal areas with unseen clogs. Conversely, and anecdotally more rare, pumps may occasionally have a significant drop in amps owing to it being so clogged that it is no longer abrading on the sides of the pipe but instead wrapped around the impeller, hindering the flow of water and potentially resulting in backups up the line. Being aware of these shifts in normalcy allow you to get on top of concerns before they are a problem.
